Getting to Know Tyler Haasnoot, Civil Technician

When did you join PE Services? Almost one year ago.

What made you decide to work at PE Services over other firms? I’ve known the owner, Jennifer, for a long time. I was in a tough spot at my previous job and unsure about my next steps—until Jennifer mentioned PE Services. Joining the team as a civil technician turned out to be exactly what I needed. I couldn’t be happier with my decision. Great people, great company.

What is your favorite aspect of your job? Being outside.

What has been your favorite project and why? I’ve really enjoyed working at the Rochester airport. It’s given me the chance to be involved in a wide variety of tasks—from nuclear density testing to supporting the paving of roads and movement of soil on site. It’s rewarding to see how everything comes together.

I am happiest when….I’m with my family.

What is the best advice you have ever gotten? Great moments are born from great opportunities.

If you could swap jobs with someone, who would it be and why? I’d swap with Jeff Eggert. He plays a big role at PE—leading both construction and company operations—so it would be interesting to see what his day really looks like. (And maybe find out why his office door is always closed…)

What is your biggest pet peeve? When there’s no toilet paper in the bathroom.
