Getting to know Evan Bui, Project Engineer

Q: How long have you been with the company?

A: I have been with PE Services for 8 good years.

Q: What does your job entail?

A: The first 3 years, I was in the office assisting design teams for the Metro Green Line Extension and the Metro Blue Line Extension working with the utilities and structures team. For the past 4 years, I’ve been working with the Quality Assurance team at the Green Line Extension during the construction phase of the project. I spend most of my time in the field observing the progress of the project to make sure the products the owner is getting are compliant with the plans, specifications, etc.

Q: In terms of successes, which accomplishments are you most proud of?

A: The opportunity to work in an office and in the field is something I’m most proud of as each setting brings different experiences.

Q: What are the toughest challenges you’ve had at work?

A: Communication in the field can be a challenge from time to time. Between the engineers, contractors, and subcontractors, information sometimes doesn’t get delivered.

Q: How have you grown professionally while on our team?

A: Passing the PE exam was a big milestone. PE Services guided and provided necessary resources which helped me successfully pass the exam. A huge thanks to PE Services!

Q: What’s a passion you have outside of work?

A: I enjoy spending time with family and friends outside of work.
